Surround Post package
The revolutionary iSSP technology developed by Yamaha’s Innovative Technology division powers a series of extraordinary surround processors, giving you the necessary surround production tools for ultimate control and realism.
Description
Yamaha’s Interactive Spatial Sound Processing technology provides three effects programs dedicated to surround mixing: Room ER (Early Reflections), Auto Doppler (Automatic Doppler Effect), and Field Rotation (Rotation of Sound Fields). These effects are particularly useful for multichannel post-production work, but can also be used as a special effects generator in music mixing. The Surround Post package is compatible with Yamaha DM2000VCM (V2), DM1000V2 and 02R96V2 digital consoles, and can be controlled directly through the console joystick.

The Room ER effect is able to simulate the acoustic properties of a room of 30 meters in length by accurately reproducing the subtle mix of direct sound and “early reflections” or early reflections depending on the distance of the source, its displacement, its speed and the acoustic characteristics of the room. This effect is ideal for precisely placing a point source in a surround environment. As an example of an application, we can cite the case of a person moving in the room while talking and turning in relation to the camera.
The Field Rotation effect can be used to rotate or distort the sound field around the listener. The listener can be in the center of the field or move himself around the source. The axis of rotation, the amplitude of the movement, the distance from the center as well as the speed of movement are controllable via the joystick or automatable by the memory of the console. Examples of applications: the character is placed on a fairground; a sound is taken from a boomerang in flight; flying saucers; any source having an elliptical displacement; 3D video games, etc.
